George is 10 and has ADHD , being tested for autism and has a rare condition called Mitochondrial disease.

Around 2 years ago mum Claire was diagnosed with Mitochondrial disease . Maternally inherited deafness and diabetes. Due to this being genetic George was tested and he also has Mito. At a very high percentage of affected cells so he will most likely have lots of symptoms like mum as he gets older

George has always loved fishing with his dad and loves adventures camping and fishing and going on the small boat we have along with the rest of the family so we want to get out as much as we can and let George have the best time with his sisters , mum and dad

We lost some of our fishing equipment in a fire a few years ago and a few people and businesses helped George with donating new equipment together us back out fishing

George felt great about this and it really helped him mentally and socially so George had the idea to help other kids with bits of fishing gear and bait . He had lots of boilies donated to gift out from an online competition site and we buy what we can to add to the boxes we also take bait and tackle out with us to give to other kids with parents permission and have a chat about George's conditions

What we plan for 2026 is to get out more camping and fishing and enjoying life . As the condition is life limiting and we don't know how bad George will be affected or how he will be affected it's very scary not knowing

It's been hard as a family and we just want to enjoy time together and have lots of fun and also help other kids and kids with disabilities get into fishing and help send out boxes with tackle and bait in to cheer them up and show others support. It also helps so much with mental health of kids yo be able to get out fishing and enjoy the relaxation and getting away from screens for a few hours

We will add to this story as in the new year George has to have a feeding tube due to his weight. And lots of other checks

As at the moment we cannot do alot as George and his mum require looking after so money is very tight.
