Dear friends,

We’re reaching out with heavy hearts and hopeful spirits, asking for your help in giving our sweet George the care he desperately needs. George has been a light in our lives—our loyal, goofy, loving companion who has brought us joy even in the hardest times. But right now, he’s facing an uphill battle, and we can’t do it alone.

George recently suffered devastating injuries, tearing the ACLs in both knees of his back legs, leaving him barely able to walk without severe pain. The first surgery is scheduled for January 23, 2025, with a second surgery planned after his 3-4 month recovery. The estimated all-in cost for both surgeries and care is $10,000—an overwhelming amount for us to manage on our own.

This year has already been one of deep loss and challenge for George and our family. In January 2024, we said goodbye to our beloved cat Miley, and just a few months later, we lost our little dog Polly to a sudden and tragic brain hemorrhage. George lost his two best friends in a matter of months, and it broke our hearts to see him grieve so deeply.

But then, in the midst of all that sadness, a little light entered our lives: Dennis, an 8-month-old kitten, joined our family. From the moment they met, Dennis and George became the best of friends. Dennis looks up to George like a big brother, and George has found new energy and joy in keeping up with his baby brother. They play, snuggle, and are inseparable. We want nothing more than for their friendship to continue to thrive—but George needs his new legs to make that happen.

The prognosis is good, and we’re hopeful for a full recovery. But it’s going to be a long, tough road, and George will need all the love and support he can get. That’s where you come in.

If you’re able to donate, even the smallest amount, it will go directly to George’s surgeries and recovery. We are so grateful for any help, and we want to pay it forward: if donations exceed George’s medical costs, the extra funds will be donated to local animal shelters and veterinary hospitals to help other families in need.
