George's Garden

Donation protected

As we approach a year since George’s passing, we are a step closer to creating the garden at the Rowan Ward. The plans are now in the process of being finalised for the Sunshine Garden. The garden is for high dependency patients who are post and pre transplant. Due to this, the hospital uses specialist contractors who complete the groundwork.

The plans include the space outside the Rowan Ward as well as the space across the road, whichwill also become a garden for patients. We are amazed to be gifted more space, to brighten the lives of so many more patients.

Before she lost her fight George talked a lot during her last few weeks about the garden and in George style how she could use the spotlight on her to raise some funds for a project about which she felt so passionately. Your amazing generosity last year helped raise so much to start to
make this a reality. The costs quoted to build the garden will is £25k. Coming up to the anniversary of losing our amazing girl we are having one last push before we close her fundraising page and pass the money raised to Harefield to make this a reality so any donations would be so greatly appreciated.

Before George sadly passed away she was planing with her close friend Holly this fundraising page to help Rowan Ward which is the transplant unit at Harefield Hospital.

They have an area outside the ward which they would like to turn into a garden for the patients.  Transplant patients can spend many months on the ward both pre and post transplant and due to their monitoring equipment can’t go far from the ward. Having an area where they can enjoy some fresh air and sunshine with their families makes such a difference as in these circumstances it’s the little things like this that can have the biggest impact.

The picture is of George in this area before her  transplant and just going outside for a short time took so much hard work as she needed to take so much equipment, but worth every minute for her to feel the wind in her hair. The ward really want to make this area much easier for very ill patients to access with beds and wheelchairs.

For the basic amendment they need £25000 and anything extra would just make it all the more special. Any donation would be so gratefully received. The money that has been then raised will be withdrawn by Georges family and then It will be gifted directly to Harefield Hospital Rowan Ward to help make this garden a reality.

George would of been so proud that she could of helped.
