My name is Erin,  I work for Pathways to Housing,  Project Home Montgomery County MD, as a case manager.  My client George Philyaw died unexpectedly over the weekend.  George was homeless and lived under the bridge near the park and ride in Germantown, MD.  George often was seen at the entrance to the Walmart Shopping Center off Rt 27.   

I have been working with George since January 2020, as my organization was supporting him in obtaining  needed housing.  We were making good progress, we obtained his birth certificate (which took about 2 month) and were waiting for the social security office and MVA to re-open (after COVID) to apply for the rest of his needed documents, to obtain housing.  The suddenness of his death brings much sadness as we were so close to getting him his own place.

I started this page to support George's family.  Unfortunately, George had no income or money saved and his family is trying to provide him with a proper burial.

George was raised by a single mom.  He had a big heart and if his friends or family needed him he was always there. George leaves behind his Mother, Shirley Fox, Stepdad Richard Fox and 3 young sisters, London, Madison and Danielle.
