George Peter Biocini Funeral and Memorial Fund

On the first day of my semester I learned that my father was in serious condition at Mills Peninsula Hospital; a few hours later I was on a flight home racing to the hospital. Family and his many friends went to pay their respects, and he passed that same night in the loving presence of the Biocini family. My father, George Peter Biocini, was a great man, a loving father, an inventive and daring businessman, and a generous and compassionate friend. He was a man of incredible integrity and fortitude. One of the highest qualities I respected about him was his touching humility. Everyone makes mistakes, but he took it upon himself to learn their lessons, and he was always committed to bettering himself. My father had many successes in life, because he was a man of great intelligence, but he was also a man of endless compassion because he understood what it was like to suffer in hard times. From the stories I keep hearing from people, he found many different ways to be of service to others. One of his proudest is that he spent years as a sponsor for Alcoholics Anonymous, helping many on the path to recovery. My father was also a charming and warm presence, who could always light up the room. Our family is devastated by his loss, as are so many of his friends. He has touched so many of our lives.

Despite how difficult this moment is for us, our family has been moved by the thoughts and prayers of the many friends that my father made in this life. The most important thing for us in this moment for me is to make a memorial so that his many friends and family can share in honoring and celebrating the life of my father. The death was quite unexpected, and our family was not prepared to handle arrangements for a funeral so suddenly. If any friends wish to contribute to the family during this difficult time, we would graciously appreciate a donation. They will be used for all funeral-related expenses as well as assisting the family with expenses incurred as a consequence of his death.

The funeral is currently scheduled to be held at 2/28 at St. Pius Church in Redwood City, at 10:30 AM, with a memorial taking place afterwards at noon hosted at the American Legion hall in Redwood City where friends and family can speak upon the memory of George and honor his passing.
