I got Multiple Sclerosis at 43 one day to the next. I spent a year in recovery to walk. I went back to work and sailored on.
I sold my business in 2019 but I only managed to break even in the large scheme. I had some money and I could always get a job if I had to, but then COVID happened. I did not see that coming.
At the end of 2022 I lost my home due to legal and financial circumstances beyond my control. That is when I applied for Social Security and MediCal. The whole process took a year to get approval. The stress of the ordeal made my MS worse. My walking got bad. I needed a wheelchair.
In 2024 I had some good fortune. I moved to Glendale to share a house with a friend. My SSI almost covers my half of the house. I make extra money running a $10 NFL Football Pick’em Pool during football season.
The reason I share all this is that in 2024 I got a trike. I strapped my feet to the pedals and started going around the block. Today I pedal over 10 miles at a time.
The pedaling has strengthened my legs sufficiently enough to increase communication with my brain. I can react quicker to the sense of falling. It’s like balancing a spinning basketball on a finger.
i believe that a round of Stem Cell Therapy at a clinic in Mexico will help me regain my equilibrium.
