Twenty years as a Hobbs Police Officer and eight years as a Hobbs Police Reserve Officer. George has been working the past nine years working with kids as a truancy prevention specialist, with Hobbs School District. George worked with At Risk Youth of Lea County with Commissioner Joe Calderon throughout his career. George also volunteered as a youth soccer and baseball coach in Hobbs with the USSSA organization. George Montes Jr., gave of himself to help others and his community, but now, George needs the help of his community. George has been diagnosed with stage-4 lung cancer. He never smoked, yet fate gave him this challenge. His prognosis is less than hopeful, and the mounting medical bills have now placed his family and 14-year-old son in financial peril. Please help George and his family ease the burden of this devastating illness. He devoted his life to serving his community, perhaps now is the time to return the favor. Your small donations will help ease his mind in his final days, and help his family overcome the burden and loss they are facing.
