Hi - I'm George and I'm fundraising to join the 2-year Masters in AI Ethics and Society at University Cambridge, starting Fall 2025.

As a lawyer and Associate at The Future Society, a US- and Europe-based nonprofit organization with the mission to align AI through better governance, my career goal at present and in the long-term is to see that risks from advanced AI are mitigated - and specifically, through global and coordinated efforts.

Previously, my work has focused on compute governance, multilateral AI safety coordination, international AI crisis preparedness and why international institutions need to act now.

With the program offering research supervision and mentorship from leading researchers in the field, like Dr. Christoph Winter, Dr. John Burden and Dr. Seán Ó hÉigeartaigh, I'm confident it would be great to be part of a community that invests in working on one of the world's most pressing problems. Also, its graduates have gone on to shape high-impact institution, including at the UK AI Security Institute and the Oxford Martin AI Governance Initiative at University of Oxford.

My most immediate need is to pay the first installment £18,666 (≈$25,413) in order to confirm my participation in the program, and I plan to fundraise more in the future to pay for future installments and living expenses. Any additional donations beyond the amount requested here would reduce my future need for fundraising, and hopefully make it possible for me to participate in the program in person rather than remotely.
