George and Karen's Health Journey

We are George and Karen Myers. This is our journey. We would call ourselves blessed even though our road has had many ups and downs. We hit financial bumps that resulted in us losing our home in 2016.
In 2018 I, Karen, received a diagnosis of stage 4 colon cancer. I haven't let it defeat me, while George has been my rock . I gave it all to God from the beginning. Our Water of Life Community church has walked right along with us this whole time and have blessed us with so many prayers. It's made our faith stronger. We love serving during weekend services, greeting people with smiles and George’s famous hugs.
In February 2021 George received a diagnosis of rheumatoid arthritis, this has affected his ability to work, which in turn has affected a major part of our source of income.

UPDATE: 2022
During Christmas 2021 we both contracted the Omnicron variant of Covid. I recovered then continued on a new chemotherapy treatment. George on the other hand has been diagnosed with what they call long Covid which has affected his lungs with only 60% compacity ( shortness of breath, loss of energy) along with an enlarged heart and a heart murmur. This has taken almost all ability to work away. Dr's. have stated he is at high risk of a stroke or heart attack.
We are praying and believing for healing. It’s all in God's timing. I continue to serve at our church's Foodbank as much as possible.
With that, our health treatments are far from over and although we’ve received support along the way our financial troubles are far from over. We are taking this bold step to reach out to friends, acquaintances and people we may not even know to share our story and to ask for your support.
Here is what we are hoping to accomplish with your support. We have major catching up to do with our finances and we are doing our best to maintain our current living situation. Medical bills are inevitably a part of the journey as are our day-to-day costs of living. While we are working through this season your financial support would go a long way.
