Geoffrey's accident

Hi
This is my beautiful boy and best pal Geoffrey.
Last Wednesday I was out with my brother doing the usual lunchtime doggy walk, when in the middle of our local woods Geoff let out a horrifying sound and collapsed to the ground. He was in dreadful pain and had completely lost the use of his back legs. After 40 minutes of trying to contact family for help, my son and daughter finally arrived and somehow we managed to get him out of the woods to the car and straight to the vets.
He was diagnosed with some form of spinal injury and we were immediately referred to a specialist spinal vet in Nottingham who after three and half hours of x-rays, CT and MRI scans found that he had a massive haemorrhage which was compressing his spinal cord. With treatment and time, he gave Geoff a 95% chance of recovery so I’m trying to raise funds to help with the cost of his vet bill.
I unfortunately I had to change his amount of insurance cover last year after suddenly finding myself on my own after my husband walked out after a 40 year relationship and without going into too much detail this has led to me being financially at breaking point.
His insurance will cover the surgery but will only pay a maximum of £1500 towards the cost of all the scans, x-rays and the anaesthesia he required for them, which the specialist has estimated at £4000 with possible further scans during the healing process.
I know times are hard for everyone at the moment, but any help would be so greatly appreciated.
Geoff’s making brilliant progress and no longer needs to be catheterised. He is eating well, the medication has been reduced and he has started to regain some feeling in his legs, we have a long way to go but we are going in the right direction.
Thank you for taking the time to read this and for any help you feel you can give.
