Geoffrey Woodward

Hi, my name is Geoff Hollett i met Geoff during lockdown and afterwards, introduced him to the Barry Nordic Walking group, who ‘adopted’ him!

Geoff was a gregarious, talkative person and he would stop and talk to anyone he passed but led a fairly lonely life, caring for his wife June. He’d had a difficult time, broken marriages, death of a daughter and estrangement’s from family members.

However, he was one of the fittest 90 year olds

2024 was not a good year for Geoff! He started to have a variety of medical issues and his wife went into hospital. He relied heavily on his next door neighbour Chris, for support. The club members, Chris and his solicitor were his only hospital visitors that we know of!

We want to place a plaque on one of the seats he past on his walks so there is something to remember him by?
