Geoffrey Waltz

Its with disbelief and grief that I must inform you that Geoffrey Waltz passed away suddenly on Sunday, 3-22-2020, two months shy of his 39th birthday. Geoffrey was a prince among men. A man who would give the shirt off his back. He was a son, a brother,  a friend, a damn good stagehand, a connoisseur of craft beers, a history buff, a mighty but gentle soul and so much more. If you were lucky enough to be counted one of his friends, you got all of him.  He would always look out for you, lift your spirits lighting up the room with his presence and baritone voice.  He was so proud of his family and where they came from, he knew all his history researching and sharing it proudly displaying his grandfather's tools on his apartment walls.  As a co worker you were happy to know that the day wasn't going to be as bad when Geoff was there. As a friend you always knew you had a reliable giant on your side. As a family member he was the most caring and loving of all.  He treated his friends like family, and to his family he gave his giant heart.

Geoff worked all over the theater and entertainment business, from the Shakespeare Theater Company of New Jersey, to New World Stages on the show Avenue Q, Hudson Scenic, many fashion weeks, NBC on combo crew, concert crew, and his favorite of all: Saturday Night Live remotes. He easily made a name for himself by simply working; anyone could see his amazing work ethic and desire to do his best.  He was naturally attentive, a team player, always ready to help.

There will be a Geoffrey sized hole to fill in our hearts. But Geoff would want us to come together, collective in spirit since we cannot physically and remind each other to be decent humans and love.  Geoff is survived by his Mother Mary Anne, his father Edward and sister Elissa. This page was set up as a means to help with any and all expenses that Geoffs' family will deal with going forward. Although in-person services cannot yet be held, information will be provided here when it becomes available.  Any donation is greatly appreciated, and sharing this with anyone who knew or loved him is greatly appreciated.
