Geoffrey Colins White help create a memorial here in Barga

Hi Richard Burnett here, Geoff (Aka Grizzly) was a friend to all of us and entertained us with his unique brand of music, most Sunday evenings, here in Barga. Geoff passed away to the great big gig in the sky and I would like to create something that will help us remember him and the great times we had with him, every time we visit Piazza Commune in Barga.

As many of you know, I played with Geoff most Sundays, in fact he gave e the confidence to play the guitar and then to sing - his words "don't practice on stage and don't give up your day job, plus SING LOUDER" will stay with me as words of wisdom forever!!

So, I am raising funds to create a unique bench, perhaps with an accent on guitar music that will sit in the Piazza and be an asset to the community - with a commemorative plate proudly displayed!

The plans need to be reviewed and agreed by the Commune, but the project has been met a warm approval so far. Any excess funds will go towards a proposed event in the Spring of 2025 (a public music event based on Geoffs musical collaborations)!

Ciao sono Richard Burnett, Geoff (Aka Grizzly) era un amico per tutti noi e ci ha intrattenuto con la sua musica unica, quasi tutte le sere della domenica, qui a Barga. Geoff è morto durante il grande concerto in cielo e vorrei creare qualcosa che ci aiuti a ricordare lui e i bei momenti che abbiamo passato con lui, ogni volta che visitiamo Piazza Comune a Barga.

Come molti di voi sanno, ho suonato con Geoff quasi tutte le domeniche, infatti mi ha dato la sicurezza necessaria per suonare la chitarra e poi per cantare - le sue parole "non esercitarti sul palco e non rinunciare al tuo lavoro quotidiano, inoltre CANTA" PIÙ FORTE" rimarrà con me come una parola di saggezza per sempre!!

Quindi, sto raccogliendo fondi per creare una panchina unica, magari con un accento sulla musica per chitarra, che siederà in piazza e sarà una risorsa per la comunità - con una targa commemorativa esposta con orgoglio!

I piani devono essere rivisti e approvati dal Comune, ma finora il progetto ha ricevuto una calorosa approvazione. Eventuali fondi in eccesso andranno a un evento proposto nella primavera del 2025 (un evento di musica pubblica basato sulle collaborazioni musicali di Geoff)!
