Geoff Ciani's Heart Surgery & Recovery

Hello, my name is Kaleb and recently my dad, Geoff, became very ill. After an ER visit, we learned that he has endocarditis, which is an infection in the heart. The only treatment option is heart surgery to replace the two valves that are infected. However, he has to be healthy enough for the doctors to perform this surgery. Currently, he is receiving treatments to reduce the severity of these infections. The infection has made him very weak and he requires assistance with previously easy tasks. A simple walk down a hallway leaves him exhausted. My dad has been in the hospital for over two weeks and we are still waiting for doctors to feel comfortable about scheduling his valve replacement surgery.

My dad has always been very supportive of my family, especially me and my three brothers. He has always found ways to help me and my brothers participate in various opportunities we were excited about, no matter the cost. He has also been an active volunteer in our community since I can remember. Over the last 20+ years, he has coached, volunteered, and supported local youth and school sports. However, my dad is also stubborn, and would rather work hard than accept help from someone else. For that reason, I am reaching out to ask for help on his behalf. This medical situation is the hardest emotional and financial challenge that my family has had to navigate. It is difficult to ask for help on behalf of my family, but I know it will be impossible to cover all medical charges on our own.

I am humbly asking for any help that you can provide my dad and my family with to get through this challenging time. All funds collected will go straight to Geoff’s medical expenses. These include daily hospital bills, the cost of surgery, physical therapy, and continued medication following his discharge from the hospital. I don’t know what the future will hold for my dad, but I know his road to recovery is going to be a challenge. Any funds that you feel comfortable donating will be extremely helpful for my family.
