In early July Animal Control in Fort Worth, TX. sent out of Facebook message about a dog named Benjamin. He had been there a few weeks on a cold concrete floor with multiple injuries after being hit and dragged by a car. They were pleading for a rescue to step up and take him. Not ONE Rescue in the entire state of Texas stepped up to help save one of their own.
I transported Ben from Springfield, IL and was shocked at the condition this dog was in. He had obviously been on the street in Texas for a very long time, the multiple open wounds and hardships this dog suffered is beyond imaginable. Being dragged by a car and left in the street with no care, food or water...well need I say more.
Ben is currently being fostered in Rockford, IL and I frequently go out to see him to bring food, treats and spend time with him. He has put on some weight, but still needs to add more. He is the sweetest dog I have ever met and he is kind to everyone he meets. He wants to live and is so happy to have a bed with blankets to lay his body down on. His foster hopes to one day see him go to a home who will love him forever.
Ben still needs the following medical procedures done:
1. HW Treatment
2. FHO on his left leg. - An FHO, or femoral head ostectomy, is a surgical procedure that aims to restore pain-free mobility to a diseased or damaged hip, by removing the head and neck of the femur (the long leg bone or thighbone).
3. Skin cancer masses removed from all over his underbelly.
4. Updates on all his vaccines.
Ben is my mission... to help him thrive and get adopted to the best possible home one day. He can't get there till he feel completely well and active. Please make a donation so I can help raise the money needed for the rest of his care.
He is fighting to live, and together we can help him achieve the life he deserves after living a life with so much hardship.
Thank you for your donation.
