Freedom Writer's Institute!

As many of you know this is my 3rd year as a teacher in CT and I absolutely love my job! I couldn’t be happier waking up every morning knowing I have the ability to inspire, motivate and educate our future leaders. As someone who is committed to ensuring our students receive an excellent education and develop a love for learning I am always trying to learn new strategies and techniques to challenge, motivate and inspire all of my students.  

I am beyond thrilled to share that I have been given an incredible opportunity, but I need your help to make this dream become a reality!

I have been invited to attend the Freedom Writer’s Institute led by Erin Gruwell and the other Freedom Writer’s Teachers. The institute is a five-day professional development in Long Beach, California where I will learn new strategies, techniques and curriculum to empower and motivate students. I will have the opportunity to engage in activities led by Erin and current Freedom Writer Teachers, and participate in daily activities and trips to museums.

In order to attend this amazing institute I have to raise enough money to cover the cost of tuition. The total cost is $5200, which includes travel, accommodations, meals, professional development, Institute activities, field trips, books, and other educational supplies, as well as ongoing support and participation as a Freedom Writer Teacher.
