As many of you know, Genie moved into Peachtree Assisted Living in June of 2025. It’s been an amazing experience and an incredible journey, and she’s doing extremely well. She’s going to be turning 100 this year! At this time, we are making a request to assist with paying for her ongoing assisted living expenses for 2026. Peachtree is a wonderful place where she’s been able to continue with as much independence as she can manage. It’s well maintained and has a kind and competent staff that takes excellent, loving care of her increasing daily support and needs.

After Genie sold her home in 2019 and moved to Texas, the proceeds paid off a substantial mortgage, a significant capital gains tax, and allowed her to purchase a modest home. In 2020, her job ended unexpectedly due to Covid, and a generous contribution she had received annually for many years ceased, leaving her with just her Social Security income and the remaining balance from the sale of her home. Over the last six years, that balance has been used for her ongoing cost of living, and Social Security does not fully cover her costs for assisted living. The simple truth is she’s living a long, full life, and we need your help to ensure she continues to receive the care she deserves.
