PLEASE HELP! My loving mother, Genevieve is an 87-year-old beautiful, kind and selfless soul. She has faced an incredibly challenging few years. In the last three years, she has undergone an aortic valve replacement, and recently, two devastating falls — first fracturing her pelvis and, more recently, breaking her femur.

This latest injury occurred while traveling with my father, a professional Santa, to a work an event 300 miles from home. While my dad was working, my mom was alone in a hotel, and tragically, she fell and broke her femur. After emergency care, it was determined that she needs to be transferred to a rehabilitation facility back home. However, her insurance, Medicare and BCBS, has denied coverage for the transport, and we are faced with the overwhelming cost of $8,500 for a specialty transport equipped with a bed and nurse to safely bring her back to her town.

Unfortunately, due to my parents’ fixed income, they simply cannot afford this expense. None of my siblings are in a position to cover this cost either, and that’s why we are reaching out to the community for help. We are asking for any amount of financial support you can offer to help bring my mother home and ensure she can receive the rehabilitation care she so urgently needs.

My mom is an incredible woman—an angel on earth and a fighter. She is a big reason I am a 23-year metastatic breast cancer survivor, and her unwavering strength has always been a beacon of hope in our family. Now, it's our turn to support her as she faces this new challenge.
