Support Genevieve’s Road to Recovery

Dear friends, family, and compassionate souls,

Today, we come together to support a remarkable young woman, Genevieve Escalante, my 23-year-old daughter, who has endured a tragic accident that has left her fighting for her life. Genevieve’s journey began with a profound loss when she lost her father in a car accident at just 3 months old. Her father’s passion for motorcycles and talent for designing custom choppers became a guiding light in her life, and she sought to connect with him by following in his footsteps.

At 21 years old, she embraced her father’s legacy and her artistic spirit as an aspiring tattoo artist. Genevieve’s love for motorcycles became a source of joy and healing for her, allowing her to cherish the memory of her father through her own two wheels.

However, fate had a different plan for Genevieve on July 14th. While riding her motorcycle on the southbound 5 freeway at Avenida Pico in San Clemente, where there is no left shoulder due to a cement barrier, traffic suddenly came to a halt, leaving her no time to react and no space to maneuver safely. (Corrected to delete "construction zone" and change her travel direction from N/B to S/B after receiving updated information.)

The consequences were heart-wrenching. Genevieve’s motorcycle collided with the car in front of her, catapulting her into a devastating accident. Her helmet flew off, and she suffered a traumatic brain injury, leaving her in a medically induced coma. Additionally, she sustained severe injuries, including a fractured skull, fractured pelvis, fractured hand, and foot. She will also need plastic surgery to repair the road rash on her foot.

As she remains in a medically precarious state, doctors are still uncertain about the full extent of her brain injury, and every moment feels like a waiting game. Our beloved Genevieve is in a high-risk situation, and we are desperate to see her recover and return to her passion for art.

Today, we humbly ask for your support. This GoFundMe campaign aims to raise funds to cover Genevieve’s medical expenses, extensive rehabilitation, and specialized care she needs on her road to recovery. Our mission is to ensure that she can focus solely on her healing, knowing that she and our family are not alone in this arduous journey. All funds will be held in trust and then given directly to Genevieve.
