Genesis is a Deakin University honours film project. Abigail Tay (director and writer) has Friend for Life which won the For Film's Sake film festival. Wei Loh (producer) has worked with Abigail on previous projects before and has worked on Seriously Good Doughnuts which won the Poppy Jasper Film Festival. Based in Melbourne, the team is raising funds to support the production of the film. This includes- food, transport and equipment rental costs, post-production fees for sound and colour grading, production design- set and props, crew reimbursement- which are essential to the successful completion of the film. The funds will be strictly used for the benefit of the film production.

Genesis will begin production in October and will screen in March 2020.
Synopsis:
Adopted as a child, Seth has been searching for a sense of identity his entire life. A long time hobbyist photographer, he decides to pursue photography full-time, leaving his job as an educator. With an upcoming photography exhibition and the expected arrival of his child, Seth and his wife Ruth strive to adapt to the changes. However, an unexpected letter notifies him of an inheritance entitlement which could alter the current perception of his identity.
