Dear friends,

Today, I write to you with a heavy heart on behalf of my best friend, Keiry, and her family, who are facing an unimaginable challenge—her son, Edwin, has been diagnosed with cancer for the third time. As a devoted mother, Keiry also has two other children, Genesis (13) and Isaiah (8), who need her support during this difficult time.

Keiry and her partner, Abraham, are doing everything they can to be present for Edwin at the hospital while also caring for Genesis and Isaiah at home. Unfortunately, this situation has made it difficult for them to maintain full-time jobs, and as we all know, bills tend to pile up during the toughest of times.

Witnessing their strength is truly inspiring, and it breaks my heart to think of what they are going through. They would never ask for help, as they are always the first to lend a hand to others. No parent should have to endure such a struggle.

Edwin, who is 10 years old, needs a bone marrow transplant, as the chemotherapy is no longer effective. His only match is his sister, Genesis. This procedure will take place in Miami, which means Keiry will have to be away from her children for about three months, leaving Abraham to manage the household and bills on his own.

I’m reaching out to you not just as a friend, but as a parent who understands the depth of love we have for our children. If you can find it in your heart to support this family during such a critical time, it would mean the world to them.

Espero que este mensaje los encuentre bien. Hoy, con el corazón triste, me dirijo a ustedes en nombre de mi mejor amiga Keiry y su familia. Actualmente, se enfrentan a un desafío inimaginable: a su hijo, Edwin, le han diagnosticado cáncer por tercera vez. Keiry tiene otros dos hijos que también necesitan su apoyo durante este momento difícil.

Me dirijo a ustedes, no solo como amigo, sino como madre y padre, porque los padres son equivalentes al amor de una madre que comprende la profundidad del amor que sentimos por nuestros hijos.
