Monday January 22, 2024, the beautiful life of sixteen year old Genes Johnson, was abruptly brought to an end.

To put into words what Genes meant to family, and friends, is near impossible. Genes has left an immense in every life she touched. Her Mom, Lamara explains her as the Yin to her Yang. We can all say we share that feeling. Genes was a lovable, beautiful soul, and the impact she has had on so many is indescribable. At school she was the person her classmates looked to for smiles and help. Genes provided so much care and comfort to everyone in her life.

Genes' family has been grieving this immense loss and has been overwhelmed with costs of laying to rest a loved one. Loss is never something that is easy for anyone, but even more so when so tragic and unexpected. We hope to alleviate some of the pain and the logistical nightmare that comes with a loved ones passing for Genes' mother, Lamarra, and allow her to grieve.

The community at Genes' school is reaching out to try and help Genes' family lay her to rest. As you can imagine loosing a life at the age of sixteen is sudden and clearly unexpected emotionally and financially.
