My name is Alysia Jennings and I am reaching out to you on behalf of the family of Gene No. We have known this wonderful family for many years, initially through little league baseball.
Gene suffered an aneurysm on Friday, Oct. 2, 2015. He suddenly had an extreme headache and double vision. He was immediately taken to the ER at Anaheim/Kraemer where they stabilized him enough to transport him to the Los Angeles Medical Center. At this point the aneurysm hadn't burst, but the area around the site was concentrated with an immense amount of pressure. Unfortunately, as they were waiting for the surgeons, Gene's aneurysm did burst. After a four and a half hour surgery, the neuro-team was able to minimize bleeding and perform a procedure to stabilize him.
Now fast forward 5 months and in it's wake, are surgeries, complications, infections and many instances of 1 step forward, 2 steps back. But through it all Gene has made great strides in regaining his strength, and is now working hard (at least 3 hours per day) at a Rehab center in Pomona to continue working towards getting mobile again. He has not backed down from anything his therapists have thrown at him, and Andrea, Emilie and Pat have worked just as tirelessly to support him. Whatever amount you are able to contribute, will go towards helping defray the cost of gas and tolls incurred with the numerous trips back and forth to the rehab center in Pomona (at least 5 days a week), as Gene's family continues to help him in his rehabilitation. And since his recovery has been described as a "marathon not a sprint", contributions will also go towards any medical bills or expenses that arise. Any little bit can go a long way, and I know the No family would be truly grateful.
