Gene & Linda Caine Fire Help Fund

I have been fortunate enough to know Gene Caine and his family for the past few years as a neighbor and a friend.  At 2:30 in the morning on Sunday April 17th Gene’s life changed. A catastrophic fire started from a space heater in his home which completely engulfed the space in a matter of minutes.  Even with the fire departments rapid response, there was little that could be done.    Gene had to be restrained from going back into the fire to attempt the rescue of the family pets.  By daybreak Gene, and his family, were without a place to live.  Both houses were a loss.  Thankfully, all other members of the family were elsewhere that night. Sadly, all three of their dogs perished in the fire.  The fire was so intense that his work truck next to the house had the front end melted.  All of the heirlooms left by his family are gone. Gene had to be airlifted to the Washington Burn Center. 





This fund is for Gene Caine, and his family, to cover mounting medical bills and to begin the painful process of rebuilding a life and a place to live.  Both houses are condemned and will require removal from his property.  All basic living necessities need to be covered.  Simple items that many of us take for granted are needed such as a bed for his daughter, Linda, to sleep on when staying with her dad. 

Nobody knows how long the road is before Gene will be back on his feet.  We know that he needs our help right now.  In the years that I have known Gene Caine, one trait of his is immediately felt – his generosity.  He is willing to give everything he had to anybody to help out.  I want Gene to know that feeling too.
