Whitney Lindsey:
My dad is the most quiet, humble, and kind man in the world. If you have seen him the past several weeks, you would never know the battle he has been facing. He serves at church, encourages friends, hunts with his grand daughter, loves his family, loves his wife, and daily seeks God.
A month ago we got some earth shattering news. We were told that my dad had cancer. Your entire foundation shifts, when the person who is our core, faces news like that. Yet he trusted God in that moment and everyday since.
After lots of prayer, my dad began his journey this week, with the incredible people at MD Anderson, to fight. Not once has he questioned why…. But continues to believe Gods plan is perfect. In the midst of this, he continues to love his family well. Believe everything will be okay and faithfully walks with a God who knows the beginning from the end. A God who was not surprised by this. A God who loves this man more than his family.
I ask that you faithfully fight with us. Pray for his body to respond to the treatment, that his tumor would shrink, and it continues to be contained. I ask that you pray for minimal side effects from the chemo. (His first treatment is Monday.) I ask that you pray for Donna as she supports, loves, and serves my dad in the days ahead. I ask that you pray for all his kids: myself, Kimberly, and Joey. That we would feel the presence of God like never before and be comforted in those hard times.
Donna Cell:
I think he wants people to know. Easier than explaining when he runs into some one.
