Gene Smith's funeral aka Sammy Smith

Donation protected
I am Sammy's youngest daughter Chelsie we recieved news about 3 weeks ago that my dad wasn't doing well and we should get his last wishes together unfortunately we never set up life insurance for him only because things happened so sudden he's been fighting cancer for 8 years now. Our family has seen him fight hard for 8 years he's beat cancer and now it's beat him. He is now in the hospital and is at the end of his fight as we watch him everyday struggle to fight for his life we have to plan to give him his funeral. My father was literally the best man I've ever met in my life I don't say that because he's my dad I'm sure there are many others that can agree with me as well, he has 6 children, several grandchildren, and a loving wife. He's raised so many children blood and not. He had such a generous heart he would give his last dollar to help somebody or he would just take kids in lol. As I sit and make this page I feel my stomach in knots, here I'm making a gofundme for my father who is still here but at his last day or days with me. My heart aches for my mother, family, and friends he was our rock who kept us together without fighting and giving up on one another. He went into the hospital Saturday February 13th thinking he was coming home he told my mother that he would be coming home to her! Unfortunately he never made it back home the put him in the step down, things just got worse the cancer clouded in his chest and took over his lungs as well as his whole body. Doctors have given him 3 hours, 24 hours, to they were just shocked of him still being here he's put up a good fight. I was able to talk to him and ask him questions like are you scared he could only respond with yes and no he answered me and shook his head no, I then felt ok to let him know we would be ok I asked if he was ok? He answered with tired and sounded so exhausted nobody should ever have to see a family member go through that pain and suffering! We're not ready to lay him to rest but unfortunately we have to let go and let him so his fighting he's in so much pain and no longer has to be. Even if you don't donate sharing the page would be appreciated we love and appreciate you all. My dad will always be in our hearts thoughts and memories. If you have any questions feel free to contact me, my mom, or any of my siblings this is a bit of a surprise to many.
