Gene Manning Memorial

Donation protected

Gene Manning went home to be with his Lord and Savior on July, 16, 2021. Though unexpected, he is rejoicing in Heaven with Jesus.

Gene and Liz Manning met on a blind date and married less than one year later. They would have celebrated their 50th anniversary next spring. Gene worked hard for half a century to provide for and care for his Baby Doll, as he called Liz.

Experiencing childhood inside a one room shack, Gene set out in early adulthood to build a life he could be proud of. He was a tank mechanic in the military during the Vietnam War, and then went on to an honest professional career in water utilities. Gene and Liz built a life and family of faith, honesty, hard work and love.

Gene’s heart was that people would know the Lord. He was concerned for the state of others’ hearts and souls, and if asked, he would share his faith. Known as a quiet warrior, he did whatever he could to bring people to the Lord. Sometimes it was with words, but many times it was through actions. Gene cooked and baked for others, took family to doctors’ appointments, gave home repair advice for neighbors—anything he could do to help.

But most of all, he loved to take care of Liz. He cooked every meal for the two of them and cleaned up so she’d have more time to do what she wanted to do. He repaired and improved their home, took her to dinner, and loved for them to watch old movies together.

Now that Gene is with the Lord, we would love to honor him by caring for his Baby Doll Liz. She has some future life transitions in front of her that are unclear, and instead of gifts, or flowers, we would love to add to her financial storehouse for the future. We would also like to help cover funeral expenses.

Gene Manning sowed into the lives of many—generously and without reservation. Thank you for helping us care for Liz.

Thank you so much. Love and blessings to you all.
