Gene Cato COVID Emergency

Gene Cato is in the hospital fighting for his life with COVID-19. He is currently on a ventilator and in the grip of this horrible virus. As he is in his second week of being sedated, his financial responsibilities and burdens still have to be met. This page has been started in the effort to pay his utilities and rent at least for the foreseeable short term future. We are praying he pulls through, but even once that happens, he will still be on a ventilator and in hospital care for some time. Our aim is to take care of his needs while he himself is in need of medical care. He has spent his adult life caring for others. In The 1980’s, he ran a daycare for the Baptist Church of Beaufort. Later, he and Marilyn welcomed two special needs boys into our family. They both became Cato brothers, and our family was known as a place where anyone with a need, could come and feel like part of the family. There were countless moments of sharing our home with nieces and nephews, troubled friends,  and even ex spouses of siblings who just needed a family support unit. We always had a home where people came in and became part of us. Its now that Gene is the one in need of care. He is exerting all the energy and effort he has to fight this virus. Its in this time that he needs help with everything else. We would like to lift these other responsibilities from him during this battle. Please help with sharing and financial support. Help us share his need far and wide. Help let others know, who may have been blessed by him in days past, and let’s rally to his side in his time of need.
