Vigilance (29) is a non-binary afab person residing in Asheville, North Carolina.  Ze is a full-time music student at Warren Wilson and co-front of a local band called Bless Your Heart.  After getting sober three years ago, ze has spent much time considering the person ze wants to be and what ze would like that person to look like.  Almost six years using testosterone as hormone replacement therapy has helped a great deal, but top surgery has always been in the back of hir mind.  Vigilance took time with this decision, as ze wanted to be certain that this desire was not based in anyone else's perception of hir.

Vigilance spent almost 10 years binding hir chest.  This practice affects breathing and causes and aggravates chronic pain.  These days Vigilance rarely binds and has worked on body acceptance, but still obscures hir chest with roomier clothing to offset the dysphoria ze experiences.

The achievement of this surgery would drastically affect Vigilance' quality of life.  The alleviation of hir lifelong dysphoria and sense of otherness through this transformative surgery will empower hir to achieve hir goals confidently and without reserve. 

As ze is currently confined to the service industry, raising these funds single-handedly would be quite a feat, and thus ze asks hir community to help, be it by funding or simply signal-boosting this request.
