Gender Affirming Surgery for Hazel

Hi, my name is Hazel! I'm a trans, NYC-based VFX artist working in game development for over four years! I'm also an artist and competitive fighting game player.

I have struggled my whole life with gender dysphoria and have worked slowly toward becoming the person I've always wanted to be. Unfortunately, I did not grow up in a supportive home, and when my parents divorced in 2018, I was left with only one family member in my life and very little emotional and financial support. I have worked tirelessly to become who I am today, struggling to land my first job in my field while commuting an hour away to make ends meet. Thankfully, years later, I am now living with my incredible girlfriend, with a job that allows me to work remotely and have the insurance medically transition through HRT. I finally feel like I have my feet on the ground and can support myself, my two cats, and my partner.

This all being said, there are, unfortunately, many medical needs as a transgender woman that are not covered by insurance. Today's cost of living has become so bloated that saving up for any medical procedure feels like a gamble when I can barely save up enough for emergencies. I fear that I may not ever be able to save up enough on my own to get the gender-affirming surgeries that would make me feel safe, especially in a city as large as NYC. So, I write to my friends and anyone who may stumble upon this page for any small donation towards making me feel safe, as well as blissful in my body.
