Gender Affirming Care for Plymouth

Hi guys!

I’m making this fundraiser on behalf of my sweet friend Plymouth, whose been a major source of support for me and tons of others, especially during recovery. Plymouth is seeking funds for gender-affirming care.

Plymouth left their conservative, transphobic, violent small town after facing death threats due to transphobia and feeling unsafe, seeking refuge in New York City. She's been having difficulty leaving the house and doing basic tasks due to dysphoria, and it literally breaks my heart to hear about the lack of safety and fear she feels from being clocked, especially in times when people are trying to k*ill trans people and legislate in the hopes of eradicating trans folx. She is facing a substantial rent increase and has been fired from, and denied countless jobs she's overqualified for in the name of gender discrimination. She's faced alienation from communities she's looked to lean on for support and with resilience continued to fight for basic rights and survival.

These funds will be used for surgery, transition, recovery, and gender-affirming care that is not only life-affirming, but life-saving. Plymouth is constantly over-extending herself emotionally, and physically by showing up for her community and fellows while trying to keep stability in her own life, and I'm hoping we can show up for her in the same way.
