Gena's Medical fund

On December 9th, 2017 my Mother Gena Chase suffered from a left brain hemorrhagic stroke. She was put into an induced coma and taken into brain surgery to relieve the swelling and pressure which was risky but successful. She was in coma for about 3 weeks, she had a constant fever, lung infection, on complete life support, ventilator breathing for her. They put in a Trach and peg feeding tube. Thankfully her current update is she is now back at Kaiser out of the ICU. She has no fever, no infection, she is breathing on her own. She is in what the doctors describe as a “persistent vegetative state.” She is NOT brain dead she has brain activity and she would not be able to breathe on her own if she was. She is opening her eyes and making little movements with her hands and feet. She will most likely soon be transferred to a long term facility we want to give her the time to heal and come back to us. The fact that she’s made it this far and isn’t showing any signs of declining is something to celebrate in our opinion. We have put all our faith into God’s hands and we know He has a plan and is with her and us every step of the way. The difficult part and last thing we want to worry about is the insurance, the co pays, the percentage that is not covered, the medical bills. We are facing the most devastating thing to ever happen to our family and the last thing you want to stress about is money, but unfortunatly we are. Her Kaiser insurance does not cover “longterm” care as most don’t. We have applied for Medi cal but they assure us we will have to pay a percentage and just to take care of her is about $300 to $700 a DAY. This is very hard to ask but whether you know my Mom (Gena), me (Lacy), Charlotte (Cece), Taylor, My Dad (Joey), If you know all of us, If you love Mom which so many did. My Mom has done so much for so many and she is so selfless. Please donate what you can. It means the world to us that so many people are reaching out asking how they can help and if we need anything. This fund will help us more than anything and relieve so much stress and pain that we are already suffering from. Mom is our world, she is the best Mom, we dont want to think of a world without her.
