Gena Whaley is 16, she is an honor roll student, she’s an artist, she’s a good kid... She has been living with Cystic Fibrosis.
What was manageable most of her life took a bad turn two years ago and left her in need of a lung transplant.
She's finally to the top of the waiting list!
Two long years of uncertainty and now a light at the end of the tunnel!
What's holding her back now is the living expenses of herself and her family having to leave their home in Tennessee to stay in Ohio for surgery and recovery.
The family will need to be in Ohio for about 5-6 months 3 if they're REALLY lucky and nothing at all goes wrong....
When the surgery is over, there will be medications and everything else that comes with a full recovery.
Gena is an awesome kid, she's huge into art, she likes swimming and tennis but is unable to do either because it involves physical exertion.
A new set of lungs will give her a new lease on life and allow her to do all the physical activities that she couldn't do before.
I’m asking for help on behalf of Gena and her amazing family.
Her family is going to need a lot of help!
They will need time off work, rent paid at home in Tennessee, rent paid in Ohio, living expenses, and medications.
I’m asking to raise $8000. It’s not nearly enough to pay for everything, but will at least get her into surgery!
