Gen Runs a Half Marathon for Strong Hearts Animal Rescue

Hi Everyone,

My name is Gen and I've challenged myself to run a half marathon (21.1kms) on 27 October 2024 at the Puffing Billy Running Festival.

I've dedicated my run to raising funds for the amazing Strong Hearts animal rescue centre.

Strong Hearts rescue kill list animals and help get them the vet care they need, foster and find happy forever homes for them. Giving them an opportunity to experience love for the first time in their life, which they all truly deserve.

The work they do for these animals is truely commendable.

Please help me make a difference to these little furry pals. I know times are tough right now but any contribution you make is hugely appreciated and keeps me on track!

For me, this challenge is no easy target. I've never been a runner and a few mouths ago I hadn't run in years and probably no more than a few kms.

This run also means proving to myself I can do hard things and that I am capable. Motherhood, injuries, balancing working full-time and life has set me back in my fitness - it's time to change all that.
