Gemma's Angels

This isn't something I would normally do but sometimes life throws you a curve ball and you have no choice but learn to play ball. 

 My sister, Gemma has always been the rock for our family and the glue that kept us all together. She was always the first one to drop everything and lend a hand to anyone that needed it.  She never complained or expected anything in return.

Our mother was diagnosed with lung cancer in March and Gemma gave up her job to help out.  She took our mother to all of her appointments and slept in a cot or chair in a hospital room for weeks on end and then had moved in with our mother while she was recovering.

Gemma had just gone back to work and was recently diagnosed with a rare, aggressive form of breast cancer and is undergoing treatments herself and is still trying to take care of our mother. While some costs are covered there are a lot that are not and they are very expensive. She has a long, hard road ahead of her and the fact that she had given up work to help our mother, these added costs will take a toll on her and her family.  

Being so far away from home when your family needs you is hard and I know that there is not a lot I can do physically to help her but if I can do something to help her financially so that she can go to bed each night with one less worry, then it's worth a try. If anyone deserves a bit of peace, it's her.

We all love her more than she will ever know and we will never be able to thank her enough for everything she has done and continues to do for all of us.
