As many of you know, our cheerleading team, Wakefield City Emeralds, recently lost a truly valuable supporter after the passing of our lovely Gemma, following a brave battle with cancer. Gemma was an incredible woman—kind, caring, and always there to support her daughter Scarlett, who dances with our team and has done since us opening our doors in 2017. From day one, Gemma and her family have been a constant source of strength, encouragement, and love for our team.

It was Gemma’s wish for Scarlett to continue dancing and living her dream, and as a dance family, we want to honor that wish. To celebrate Gemma’s life and her unwavering support for her daughter, we’ve decided to organise a sponsored walk in her memory.

All funds raised will be donated directly to Gemma’s family to help in any way they need during this difficult time.

We invite you to join us in showing our love and support for Gemma’s family. Your donations will make a meaningful difference, and we are incredibly grateful for your support.

Our walk will take place in February around Pugneys Country Park, where all our dance family will come together to remember Gemma.
