Tomorrow 11/4 is my birthday and all I want for my birthday is to be able to save Bubba’s life. I took Bubba to an emergency vet today and he’s been diagnosed with an obstruction (blockage) in his small intestine. Bubba is an otherwise healthy, happy dog who loves to play, cuddle, watch TV, “talk” and chase sticks… unfortunately, he loves to eat socks too. We don’t know how he managed to find a sock, but he did. He’s very sick and he’s holding onto hope through us… and you. Financially, we cannot afford this surgery on our own. We couldn’t even afford the vet today, but they were an amazing blessing when they assessed him, gave him subcutaneous fluids, nausea meds, as well as an ultrasound and x-ray for only $50 because that’s all we could afford. We choose to stay very private about our finances and struggles (which have been a true silent battle these past 6 months), but today I just don’t care about others judging us. All I care about is saving our boy and also avoiding our kiddos heartbreak. Time is of the essence; if he doesn’t have surgery by tomorrow, he’s going to need to be laid to rest.
