wir sind Monika und Desireé aus Österreich und waren vor gerade einmal 11 Monaten selbst in Nepal.

Unsere Reise führte uns ins Langtang Valley. Ausgangspunkt unseres Treks war Syabrubesi, ein Dorf in dem Tal indem die Flut alles mitgerissen hat. Der Ort, in dem wir vor und nach unserer Wanderung zwei Nächte verbrachten.

Es bricht uns das Herz zu sehen, was die Flutkatastrophe an dem Ort an dem wir selbst waren und von den Menschen so herzlich empfangen wurden, angerichtet hat.

Plötzlich sind es nicht mehr einfach nur Bilder einer Katastrophe irgendwo auf der Welt, sondern ein Ort, mit dem wir besondere Erinnerungen und Begegnungen verbinden.

Genau deshalb möchten wir jetzt etwas zurückgeben.

Nepal und vor allem die Menschen sind uns während unserer Reise sehr ans Herz gewachsen. Wir haben eine Herzlichkeit, Gastfreundschaft und Hilfsbereitschaft erlebt, wie wir sie noch selten in einem Land erlebt haben.

Uns ist es wichtig, dass die Spenden dort ankommen, wo sie gerade am dringendsten gebraucht werden. Deshalb starten wir diese Spendenaktion gemeinsam mit Wolfgang Bartl und seinem Verein „Let the children walk“ aus Nüziders in Vorarlberg.

Wolfgang kennen wir persönlich. Er ist seit vielen Jahren in Nepal aktiv, unterstützt ein Dorf und ein Krankenhaus in dieser Region und hat über die Jahre enge Kontakte zu Menschen vor Ort aufgebaut. Dadurch weiß er, wo Hilfe benötigt wird und kann gemeinsam mit seinen Kontakten in Nepal dafür sorgen, dass die Unterstützung gezielt bei den betroffenen Menschen ankommt.

Namasté,

we are Monika and Desireé from Austria. Just 11 months ago, we were trekking in Nepal.

Our journey took us to the Langtang Valley. The starting point of our trek was Syabrubesi, a village in the valley where the floods swept everything away. It was the place where we spent two nights before and after our trek.

It breaks our hearts to see what the devastating floods have done to a place where we stayed and where we were warmly welcomed by the people.

Suddenly, these are no longer just images of a disaster somewhere in the world. It´s a place we associate with special memories and encounters.

This is exactly why we now want to give something back.

Nepal and especially its people became a place in our hearts. We experienced a warmth, hospitality and willingness to help that we have rarely experienced in any other country.

It is important to us that the donations reach the places where they are needed most right now. That is why we are launching this fundraiser together with Wolfgang Bartl and his association “Let the children walk” from Nüziders in Vorarlberg, Austria.

We know Wolfgang personally. He has been actively supporting people in Nepal for many years, helping a village and a hospital in this region and over the years he has built close relationships with Nepali´s. This means he knows where help is needed and together with his contacts in Nepal, can ensure that the support reaches those affected in a targeted way.
