Tom and Fran Geisler, as well as Tom’s mom (my Grandma) Katie, were evacuated from their Winslow, NE farms on March 14 due to life-threatening flash flooding. The flood has had a catastrophic impact, leaving Uncle Tom, Aunt Fran, and Grandma Kate without homes, hungry livestock, and an uncertain future for their livelihood of farming. Grandma Kate’s house and its outbuildings are now in very poor condition. We are unsure at this point if the farm is salvageable. Tom and Fran’s foundation of their home is in very bad shape as well, and are also unsure about the future of their property. Like many families in Nebraska, they could use some help. Tom and Fran are two of the kindest, hardest working people that have always been there for their families, friends, and community. Let’s help them and Grandma Kate out and show our support! All funds will go towards helping them feed and take care of their remaining livestock, buying basic items such as food and toiletries, and household items such as cleaning supplies and blankets. Funds will also go towards helping the Geislers clean up the aftermath of the flooding.
They are currently staying with family and friends in Hooper, and will be staying at a house loaned by a local pastor here in a few days.
