My name is Ingry Mejia. I recently graduated high school and now, it is off to the real world - and off to college! This is especially daunting given I am the first in my family to attend college. I am seeking to build a career out of my biggest passion. Art. I have been accepted to, and plan to attend, my dream school: California College of the Arts ("CCA"). However my mother and I  do not have the kind of money a private art school requires - so I am for your support!  
Art has always been a part of my life. Ever since I can remember, I have been compelled to draw what I saw around me. Through an education at CCA, I will get the chance to experience even more types of art: painting, sculpting, even building. Last year I won a scholarship to participate in a summer architecture program - it was the most amazing experience, I met some incredible people that I still keep in contact with today. This experience further stoked my interest in pursuing my passion as a career. In 2016, several of my paintings were featured in a gallery in Oakland - knowing that people were  viewing my work was an incredible feeling.  My senior year of high school I was voted Most Artistic.
All of this has been great but I am very aware that pursuing art as a career will be very difficult, starting off with tuition for school. I need to raise $25,915 for my first year of school.
