Natalie has been a type one diabetic since she was a year old. She’s overcome so much already in her life, at only 27, including many issues associated with being diabetic along with having the BK virus active and only treatable with with organ removal. She is now facing stage five kidney failure and has been on the transplant list for a kidney and a pancreas since February 2024.
Throughout all of this, she has still been such a joy to as many people as she can, sharing the love of Jesus, and has worked so hard to provide for herself. She strives to live a normal life and many people don’t even know she’s sick. Natalie usually 50 and 60 hour work weeks, as best as she can, and every time she has tried to go back to work after being hospitalized, she ends up being readmitted with another infection for several weeks at a time.
While she has infection, she goes inactive on the transplant list, so this has all delayed her transplant. She has been in the hospital from May until August, on and off, and now she has finally been told she cannot work as she is going to have to start dialysis- something she’s been trying to avoid having to do.
Natalie has finally been approved for disability starting next year, lasting until she has her transplant. We are hoping to raise money to help pay for living expenses, transportation back-and-forth to dialysis, and health insurance that currently covers all of her healthcare and current care providers.
