Hey everybody! How’s it going? Good, I hope! My name is Tony P. Henderson and I’m one of the creators over at Geek Versus and we’re asking for your support.
So who is this Tony guy anyway?
Hey, that’s me! I’m a bit biased, but I happen to think he’s a pretty awesome guy. In addition to that, Tony is a guy who loves comedy and geek culture. After a brief stint in Los Angeles performing comedy acting, and winning an Academy Award, Tony moved back “home” to Georgia. (Okay, so the award doesn’t have my name on it, but I did some background work in Million Dollar Baby, and that in turn won the award for best picture, ERGO I won an Academy Award.)

After moving back to Georgia he met up his old pal Casey (right) where they began performing at a local open mic – horribly at first, but rapidly rising to the lofty level of mediocrity. Wanting to do a web series somehow led to the development of the Geek Versus Week podcast.
What is Geek Versus?
Geek Versus was born from the podcast, but grew into a many headed beast. In fact, whenever you cut one head off, two more grow back in its place. Just kidding, no heads have been cut off, but it’s not for a lack of trying. As the podcast has continued on for over 100 episodes we’ve partnered with other podcasts and performers from our local open mic. Through this partnership we’ve been able to build a community of geeks who make podcasts, videos, and write articles about geek/nerd culture.
Why are you asking for money?
Short answer: We want a pony!
Long answer: As this endeavor of ours has grown so have the expenses. Did you know in order to create content you have to buy audio equipment, computers, video equipment, editing software, website space, permits, taxes, marketing materials and more? Well, you don’t really have to buy any of this stuff, but in order to try to be successful at it, we decided to. But now the credit card companies are calling, and Tony nor Casey want to give up a kidney. What we do want is to provide entertainment for people, with a special interest in geek/nerd culture, and if sometimes we’re able to make you laugh along the way, then hey, our job is done. Your donations will be used to help with the purchase of equiptment, updating our website, marketing, travel for convention appearances, and hopefully a pony.
All kidding aside, I want to thank you for reading this, and ask that you help us in one of two ways:
1) Make a donation! (Gifts will be shipped in March)
2) Share this with your friends.
From everyone at Geek Versus, thank you!
