My name is Jessica. My fiance, Stephen, and I have a great idea for a custom apparel company. We have been searching for a good way to go into business for ourselves, so that we can spend more time with our children, and nurture and raise them without childcare. Right now, I am doing small freelance sewing jobs, and Stephen is managing at a restaurant. We only have one vehicle. Money is tight, and we are both ready to work for ourselves and build a strong business that our children will benefit from.
Geek Chic Custom Threads is a new start-up company that needs a little help to get off the ground. We are trying to raise money to purchase what little equipment and inventory we would need to completely change our lives, and the lives of our children, for the better. We will be able to print anything onto shirts, hoodies, jackets, messenger bags, hats, onesies, bibs, and basically any other flat or semi-flat fabric. I will also be making cloth clutch purses and zippered bags, as well as hair bows and flowers, with a geeky theme to them. (I.E. a Dr. Who clutch, or a Harley Quinn bow)
The money that we raise will go toward purchasing a transfer printer, heat presses for shirts, hats, etc., inventory (such as blank shirts, hoodies, bags, hats, jackets, fabric and findings for custom cluth bags, etc.), ink, transfer paper, a website with e-commerce, and postage for shipping our products. We will also need an anti-virus software and a graphic designing software for our computer, which we will use to create and implement whatever design our customer should wish to have printed. We don't need a lot to start off, which is why we are hoping for help.
We would like to get this off the ground as soon as possible, but we won't be able to save the money ourselves, as basically all of ours goes to bills and food, and things for our children (diapers, formula, school stuff, field trips, etc.). We won't give up on our dreams of being successful business owners anytime soon, so we can wait as long as we need to.
This business means that we can spend our time at home, working for ourselves, and spending time with our children, who both need us more than they need to be in child care. We can raise our children to be more strong and independent, seeing their parents work hard every day to succeed. We can finally not have to do a bunch of back-breaking labor in a restaurant that's owned by someone else. It means that I can pursue my dream of fashion design, and put more time into sewing and making things, which is what I love to do.
If we get funded, we will finally be able to be happy, and successful. We have the knowledge, we know what we need to do, all we need is some very generous people to help us get the initial boost we need to get going. We are so appreciative of any help that we can get. Thank you for taking the time to listen to our idea, and thank you for helping us secure a better future for our babes. We love you all.
