A little background:

Since 2012, I have been a local professional photographer. I started out doing landscapes and animal portraits, and found a love for working with the community and doing everything from high school senior portraits to family photos. I've been so privileged to have worked with so many people over the years and I've been given some pretty amazing opportunities through my pursuit of a career in photography. 

While I gained experience, and built my portfolio, I worked in Aquatics Facilities all over the Olympic Peninsula. I was originally planning on making it my career. I had went from not knowing what competitive swimming was in 2008, to being a state high school athlete, to teaching and coaching swimming, to life-guarding and more. I was very dedicated to my work and I loved what I did. And between that and photography I was doing I was so happy. But I was putting in a lot of hours to do so. And I started getting sick and not really getting better until I just was always sick.

My predicament: 

I had to leave my career in Aquatics in 2016 due to health complications. I had surgery for it last year (finally) after fighting for a diagnoses for years. I'm getting back on my feet finally and back to more normal days. But I have to put all of my income into finding a place to live, paying off my debt from being sick (medical bills and more), and repairing the car my fiance and I already had to put our entire savings into to get. So with all this going on, I can't afford to replace my failing camera body.

About my current camera: 

The sensor is worn out, so my image quality is suffering. It wont focus with any of my lenses on 1 of 5 auto focus points. There are dead pixels right in the center of the frame. And its not shooting quickly or as accurately as it once did. This has not only impacted my editing times, but also impacts how I shoot due to having to cater to these issues. 

About the replacement camera Canon 5D Mark IV: 

The main reasons why this is model that I am aiming for: 

-This model line has been out for over 10 years, and this is the most current model released in 2016. So I know it will work and work well.
-Excellent High Performance ISO for low light events like concerts.
-Way better Dynamic Range. 
-Weather sealed build (so it wont break or error 404 if it gets drizzled on like my current camera)
-Durable. 
-WAY faster auto focus (this has been SUCH a huge issue with my camera)
-Duel card slots (more file space/image security if one card fails)
-Great battery life (another big issue mine has even with new batteries)
-This is the industry standard for professional cameras. 
-It will last me a decade of shooting (being an updated model and brand new, not used). 
-In camera double exposure. 
-It just came down 1k from its release price. 

Basically it's the camera I have, but better, updated, and more durable.
