Geaux Long for Lafayette
Donation protected
Geaux Long for Lafayette is a fundraising campaign to support rebuilding and restoration in the aftermath of the recent flood. Lafayette was recently devastated by the greatest flood our city has ever seen.
The Cajun spirit is contagious, and the people of Acadiana have stepped up to help their friends and neighbors in a time of great need. Right now, local churches and charities like the Red Cross are providing for immediate needs and emergency assistance, but we know that recovery from an event of this magnitude will take weeks and months. Soon, the donation centers will all shut down, the Red Cross trucks will roll out of town, and many families do not have the means and resources to recover from this tragedy. In a means to help, the Ragin’ Cajun Athletics family has established this fund to support families in our community as they rebuild and restore their homes in the aftermath of the flood. Whether it’s a new mattress to lay their head on, a few weeks worth of groceries to sustain them, or a new pair of soccer cleats to replace the ones lost in the flood, we want to come together with our community as we all work to rebuild. The money donated to this fund will be placed in a special account set up by the Stringer family and dispersed by the Geaux Long giving committee. Your doantion is not tax deductible.
Geaux Long for Lafayette is a Punt, Pass, & Kick and free throw event taking place on September 5th, and we’re asking for pledges to help rebuild our community. Participants are asking you to make a pledge for every yard they move the football OR every free throw they make. Don’t worry, it can’t be more than 100 (yards/free throws)! You can also choose to make a flat donation to our Geaux Long fund. Any pledge you can make would be incredibly helpful, and you’d have the thanks of our entire community.
