Helping Thalia

Meet Thalia, Thalia is an amazingly strong spirited, bright eyed, sweet eight year old girl.

In 2011, Thalia was born with severe complications. She was diagnosed with spastic, quadriplegic Cerebral Palsy. She has since been diagnosed with microcephaly (abnormally small head), perinatal hypoxic-encephapthy (neonatal brain injury), , failure to thrive, g-j tube feeding dependent, neuromuscular scoliosis, chronic lung palliatric, and hip dysplasia among others.

Thalia had come along way. At the age of three years old she weighed in at just eleven pounds. Thankfully with the financial help of family Thalia and family was fortunate enough to relocate to California in 2014 to seek better medical attention she so desperately needed

When Thalia arrived to San Diego she undergone a g-tube placement surgical procedure that enabled her to get the nutrition she needed.
For a period of several years Thalia's health miraculously managed to become stable. She smiled for the first time. She became responsive, interactive, and at times expressed endless laughter. She regularly attended physical/occupational therapy and enjoyed family outings. Her quality of life seemed to have improved as a result.

Additionally as of April. 2019, Thalia's health began to spiral downward and took a turn for the worst.
In May 2019,  she was diagnosed with chronic upper respiratory distress. She currently breathes through a nasal cannula and a Bi-pap at night to help maintain a normal oxygen level. She is connected to a heart monitor 24-7. She struggles to hold her feeds down. She had undergone a j-tube placement to help hold her feeds. Yet there is still no success at this time. While doctors try to diagnose the reason and possible treatment, she is currently receiving nutrients, fluids, medications, ivy from a PICC- line inserted from the leg to the heart.

Thalia's chronic illness leaves her with lengthy and frequent hospitalizations that are costly & emotionally heartbreaking. My name is Anna. I am Thalia's mother.  I kindly ask for your help to keep me at my child's bedside as I fight for my child’s life, the daughter that I love and will be with until the end.

With sincerest wishes,

Anna
