Support for Latoya: A Mother, Fighter, and Survivor

In July 2018, Latoya was diagnosed with breast cancer. She bravely endured radiation and multiple surgeries—one of which was due to a severe infection. For a time, it seemed the worst was behind her.

Then in April 2022, Latoya discovered a lump in her sternum. Testing confirmed the devastating news: the cancer had returned, and she was now facing a Stage 4 Metastatic Breast Cancer diagnosis.

By mid-2023, Latoya’s health began to decline. She was in and out of the ER having fluid drained from her lungs, which ultimately required permanent drainage tubes. The cancer had aggressively spread to both her sternum and lungs.

Determined to keep fighting, Latoya began a new form of chemotherapy in pill form. Initially, there was hope—the treatment appeared to be shrinking the cancer. But in April 2024, Latoya suffered a silent heart attack and required a stent to restore proper heart function.

In the summer of 2024, Latoya moved to Texas with her partner, seeking a better quality of life. Harsh New York winters had taken a toll on her bones and joints, and she was hopeful for a fresh start. Things seemed stable—until early 2025.

Latoya began experiencing numbness in the lower half of her body, which she initially believed to be side effects from her treatment. However, during a visit to New York in April 2025, a routine doctor’s appointment turned critical. She was immediately hospitalized and diagnosed with Leptomeningeal Disease—a rare and severe condition in which cancer cells spread to the protective membranes surrounding the brain and spinal cord.

She immediately began an intense 15-day radiation regimen: 5 rounds to the lower body and 10 to the brain.

Anyone who knows Latoya knows how private and resilient she is. She has handled every hardship with grace, strength, and an unbreakable spirit. She is now back in Texas to continue her treatment.

Due to this latest diagnosis, Latoya is unable to work. She is the sole provider for her family and the loving mother of four children, including one currently in college whose tuition she fully supports.

We have started this campaign to help relieve the financial burden so Latoya can focus on her health and family during this incredibly difficult time.

If you know Latoya, you know how strong and selfless she is. Please consider donating or sharing to support her and her family. Every contribution, no matter the size, makes a difference.

Thank you—from the bottom of our hearts—for your love, prayers, and support.
