Scotty Hancock, or as some knew him Crow Dog, was an exceptional person remembered by many for being intelligent, wise, funny, and above all loving. He carried with him the gift of understanding everywhere he traveled. A father and teacher to his two sons, Caleb and Braden. He left behind many of us memories of great times and laughter.
A proud veteran of his country, and historian, he loved talking with friends and family about historical wars and past events. He was particularly interested in the great Battle of Gettysburg. He could explain to you the finest of details by each day as they happened. He loved to talk to people, and he was great at it. There was no one better for me to help pass the time. Always an interesting conversation, always something learned from visiting him.
He was an amazing guitar player, and student of music. He played beside his brothers Tone, and Toddy. Scotty loved Eddie Van Halen and often discussed with me his importance to him, and guitar history. He enjoyed listening to and playing along to Yngwie Malmsteen on prerecorded tapes he had laying around his living room. I spent hours watching him play.
Scott did not carry a life insurance policy and his family is looking for financial aid for funeral expenses.
Any contribution to expenses for his family during this time is greatly appreciated by all of us.
We all love you Scotty and you will be missed by many.
