Hurricane Relief for my family
Donation protected
I rarely ask for help and against my daughter's wishes, I am reaching out to friends to help her and her husband during this devastating time. Shannon and Nate moved to Cypress, Texas, a suburb of Houston, last year and are expecting twins in late December. Unfortunately as you have heard, Harvey has dumped record rainfall amounts on the area, and my daughter's home has fallen victim to the flooding. The financial impact is larger than one may realize, as she is a Registered Nurse and works from home, and Nate works for the VA also, from home, which will not be happening for awhile, so no paycheck for either of them. The home they purchased, was not in a flood zone, so no flood insurance either to complicate the loss. The inside will need to have flooring and drywall replaced, furniture, food will need to be purchased, and not sure about wiring, plumbing and anything else at this point, until they are able to really assess the situation. It will be a busy few months, trying to get back to work, fixing their home and preparing for the two new arrivals. Shannon is expected to be placed on bedrest for the twins by the end of November. Anything you are able to contribute will be greatly appreciated. This should be one of the greatest times in their life, and the stress of Harvey's impact on them should be limited as much we can.
