In January of 2023, Joe was diagnosed with bladder cancer. He has endured numerous surgeries, scans, testing, bladder chemotherapy, BCG treatments and immunotherapy. He went in for his latest surgery last Monday, September 19th, 2024 where they found a high grade carcinoma and carcinoma in Situ. Joe will be having a PET scan and since insurance will not cover it they will be paying out of pocket. After exhausting all local options, Joe and Andrea are seeking a second opinion in Kansas City next Friday, September 27th. As you can imagine Joe has been in and out of work and his medical needs and bills are adding up.
